Tikrikilla, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya, March 14, 2024 — Astha Handicraft Producer Company Limited, in collaboration with the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, recently organized two impactful initiatives aimed at uplifting artisans in Tikrikilla, Meghalaya.
On March 12, 2024, Astha Handicraft Producer Company Ltd. facilitated the distribution of Hand Embroidery and Artistic Textiles tool kits to 50 artisans. The kits, consisting of ISI mark Stitching Machines, Embroidery Frames, Tracing paper, Pencils, Steel Scales, Measuring tapes, Scissors, and more, provide essential resources to enhance the artisans’ craftsmanship and productivity.
In addition to the tool kit distribution, a comprehensive Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) was conducted from March 11 to March 16, 2024, benefiting 20 artisans under Astha Handicraft Producer Company Ltd. This program aimed to equip participants with essential entrepreneurial skills and knowledge to thrive in the competitive market landscape.
The programs witnessed the esteemed presence of Mrs. Rima Sonar, Assistant Director of the Office of DC Handicrafts, Handicraft Service Centre, Shillong, Meghalaya, alongside Khushboo Barman, HPO, HSC, Shillong, and empaneled designer of DC Handicrafts, Ranjit Gogoi.
Distinguished speakers graced the EDP sessions, including:

- Bijoy Deuri and Paresh Bhuyan, Empanelled Designers at DC Handicrafts, delivered engaging lectures on Designs and the latest industry trends.
