Actor Ranveer Singh engages crowd in an interesting, yet spine-tingling scene on the very sets of his recently theatre hit movie, 83, that features the Indian Cricket team’s now-unattainable victory moment in the 1983 World Cup.
During engaging in a high-spirited conversation, Ranveer Singh, who is seen in the role of former skipper and captain Kapil Dev, mentioned about the scene that displayed the famous presentation ceremony, with Director Kabir Khan reasserting how he wanted it to be more than perfect.
However, when the scene was fast approaching to be recorded, former West Indies Captain Clive Lloyd, who led the rival team in 1983, made an unimaginable appearance on the set. “We were on the set of the Lord’s when we were about to shoot the presentation ceremony, lifting the original cup from back in the day. Like anticipated, we were on set of the historic balcony where the win was first visioned years back in time. Kabir was very strict with the rolling of scenes, since it all required the perfect morsel of effort. The scenes were extremely delicate because it was constructed of moving images that have been seen more than a hundred times by people around the world”, Ranveer said.
“Now, as we rolled in on the set for shooting the scene with multiple cameras to get one close shot, Clive Lloyd, the unimaginable man of interest, walked down on the set, rather unannounced. We were as shocked by the occurrence as anyone was. The former captain, who once partook in the experience, has visited the set in his own flesh. We’re perplexed, asking questions like whether we are seeing a ghost or not”, he added.
Clive Lloyd was discussing briefly about the now-hit film with Director Kabir on the set, intently watching the recreation of the scene. All the scenes that were shot in the film involved efforts and intricacies of the actors, Ranveer hinted. He says that 83, after Bajirao Mastani, has sent chills down his spine after long in the clock.
