As per Whatsapp’s monthly user safety report, a whopping 2.3 million Indian users, during the very month of August, were banned from the instant messaging service. In fact, the news has been airing since quite some time now. It has been constantly said that if you unknowingly spam unverified information to your contacts, then it is highly likely that your account might also wind up getting banned as well.
Assuming that your intentions were not bad, it is probable that your account might end up getting banned in case you violate the company’s Terms of Service agreements.
For instance, if Whatsapp’s systems identify that your usage serves as a scam, spam, or is capable of putting other’s safety at jeopardy, then it could potentially ban your account.
At this point now, recently, whatsapp has begun using several safety measures and methods to determine whether or not to ban a user – or to even detect their activity, processing if their usage is spam. It vastly incorporates spam detection technology, helping detect and take action against users who engage in misleading, abnormal or suspicious activities.
Understand, Read and Research the Message Before Forwarding it in Whatsapp
Whatsapp, with every recent update, introduces a new style and format. Quite some time back, it also introduced telling users, with a label saying “Forwarded Many Times” – helping them understand that a message has been forwarded a number of times.
By this, in many cases, whatsapp hints that a message can potentially be spam – at least if it has been forwarded quite some number of times. In case you forward it too many times, Whatsapp can identify your activity as spam, leading to account ban.
Another point to remember is to respect the boundaries of people. In case you add a person to a group and they almost immediately remove themselves from it, then it is best to not add them back again. It is a good idea to have and let people have their own restrictions and boundaries. Otherwise, it can lead Whatsapp to believe that your activity is suspicious and further ban you from the platform.
These are some important points to remember. Stay tuned!
