If Feminism were a person, it’d have been a controversial celebrity indulged in lot of legal Court cases against defamation in the name of pseudo feminism, accused of being a great threat to the patriarchal society or facing backlashes for overthrowing their orthodox throne well-built by the men all over the world. Thankfully, it is not a human and merely an instigated idea or belief, credited to the women of dignity, strength,and self dependence which revolutionized the life of a simple homely lady to the Statue of Liberty. Traditionally, feminism has been classified into three categories say “Big Three”schools of feminist thoughts- Liberal /mainstream, Radical and Socialist or Marxist feminism which has been further grouped under distinct waves of feminism just like the COVID-19.
The first wave of Feminism(19th-early20th century) centralised around suffrage;
The Second wave of feminism (early 1960s )was based on reproductive rights while The Third wave (around 1990s)emphasized on the female Heteronormality( Heternormality is an assumption that everyone is straight presuming that there are only two distinct opposite genders and prefers the normal mode of sexual-orientation unlike between two people of same gender.) Later, The Fourth wave (2010- present) which can be termed as Modern Feminism speaks about marginalisation of women in the society,empowering her, using digital tools to achieve social-political rights intersectionality( fight for gender equality to become unified) against body shaming and raising rape cases all over the world paced the bridle of Feminism.
If it is looked up on carefully, feminism has got deeper routes that we normally imagine. There are many refined theories on the par but the core intones the same idea of women empowerment reaching through different routes in vivid periods or centuries via distinct approaches worldwide.
It frets us to acknowledge that the run for equality and freedom for centuries hasn’t even fully aced yet. vWe as women, are still to cover miles for the roots of discrimination against gender, caste ,race sex-orientation, region etc albeit of so much of efforts and revolutions do hold firmy still which reflects the power of dampened patriarchy sown in the hearts of mankind sucking the blood of Humanism.
The ideology that this Latin word can only be related to women is false as well. A man can as equally be a ‘feminist’ as a woman as far as mythological concepts validates too that feminism is a part of men. Infact Lord Shiva has been often portrayed as ‘Ardhanareeswara’ with half-male and half-female which goes with an ancient mythological story of how Shiva and Parvati are no different Idol figures but same souls in different bodies .
As of speaking scientifically, every child is born with equal pairs of genetic chromosomes from its both parent.Overall feminism is a part of men’s life too.
They are born to their mother, she herself is a woman who deserves equal rights and respect in the society she lives in.
However, I would equally deny the term of ‘false-feminism’ and ‘pseudo-feminism’ as anything used in the name of feminism for self-benefit and solo appraisal of an individual is surely not feminism.
It is a part of Emancipation of women which is a genuine concept of benefiting the women worldwide awakening the prejudiced opinionated laity who dominated for centuries in the name of power.
Henceforth,
“Worshipping a female deity is no blessing until a real one is accepted with equal respect in actual life as well.”
