M/s Sonaiporiya Handicraft Producer Company Ltd., in association with Pratikshya NGO, of Nagaon, arranged a Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) Scheme with the aim of empowering and elevating the group of handicraft craftsmen. In order to support the expansion and sustainability of their enterprises, the event sought to inform and counsel craftsmen on how to apply for government financing through the Mudra loan programme. Education regarding the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Loan Scheme, which offers financial assistance to micro and small businesses engaged in a range of economic activities, including traditional handicrafts, was the main objective of the awareness camp.
Approx. 85 members of the group of handcraft artists actively participated in the awareness camp, which helped to create an educated and upbeat environment. In order to improve the market visibility of the artisans’ products, Sonaiporiya Handicraft Producer Company Ltd. and Pratikshya NGO pledged to continue offering support, including follow-up help with the loan application process.
An important step towards promoting financial inclusion and economic growth within the handicraft sector is this combined initiative by Pratikshya NGO and Sonaiporiya Company. The goal of these projects, according to the organizers, is to give the skilled craftspeople involved a more profitable and sustainable future. For the skilled craftspeople participating, the organizers hope that these kinds of projects will open doors to a more successful and sustainable future. Director Mr. Tayabur Rahman, Purnima Deka, and Puja Kumari Das Rai were present, and social activist Ms. Nazia Hasan Chowdhury provided assistance to ensure the success of the event.
